What’s the difference between Zebra’s TC21 and TC26 touch computers?

The new Zebra TC21 and TC26 are the latest mobile devices from Zebra – designed to build on the success of the TC20 and TC25 they are Zebra’s latest offering in the rugged device market.  

The key and only difference between the TC21 and the TC26 is that the TC21 is Wi-Fi only - designed for workers within the four walls of an enterprise. Meanwhile the TC26 has cellular capabilities as well as Wi-Fi making it suitable for workers out in the field. 

Both the TC21 and TC26 come in a variety of different scanner and memory options, allowing you to reduce cost by selecting the specification required for your work. Both the TC21 and the TC26 come with three different options in terms of scanning. For scan-intensive 1D/2D applications, choose the SE4710 for faster-than-ever barcode capture. For light to moderate 1D/2D scanning requirements, choose the SE4100. And if you just need every-now-and-then barcode capture, the high resolution 13 MP camera in the base model can do the job. 

The TC21 and TC26 also comes with an option for increased memory – this high memory option comes with 4GB/64GB of memory rather than the standard 3GB/32GB. The full list of models available to purchase on our website and their specific features such as memory and scanner can be found below.  

As the next generation of the TC20 and TC25 devices, the TC21 and TC26 come with many improvements from their counterparts. One of these is the fact that the batteries are now removable and come with standard or enhanced capabilities although they are not hot-swappable so you do need to put it into stand-by mode to change it. The standard 3100mAH battery should last about 10 hours on a charge (depending on use), and an optional 5,400mAH extended battery boosts to 14 hours. 

The camera has also been given an upgrade from Zebra, while the TC20/25 came with an 8MP camera all of the TC21 and TC26 devices now boast a 13MP rear camera. All of the models excluding the SE4100 scanner options also come with a 5MP front facing camera designed for video calls.
